Americus Georgia is the founding and original headquarters location of Habitat for Humanity, the affordable housing charity founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller.

Global Village and Discover Center is a 6 acre learning center where visitors can tour Habitat houses from around the world, experience an example of poverty housing, learn to make tiles and blocks and learn different construction methods from around the world. The Habitat learning experience also include multimedia presentations photo. Appropriate seasonal dress for outdoor activities is recommended for visits to Global Village. Telephone: 229-924-6935. Westville depicts the life and culture of 1850. The town is a living history village of original buildings dating back to 1850 that have been authentically restored to function as life was during that time. Visitors to this Southwest Georgia attraction see craftsmen producing items for village neighbors, hear the blacksmith’s hammer and smell gingerbread and biscuits baking.
